For the Unity Towing project, the goal was to convert a standard company logo into a clean, embroidery-ready file suitable for hats. Since hats have a curved surface and often use thicker fabric than standard t-shirts, the digitizing process required specific adjustments to ensure the final result looked professional and stayed within the 3×2.5 inch constraint.
Design Challenges
The main challenge was the scale of the logo. At 3 inches wide, we had to ensure the text and small graphic elements remained legible. If the stitches are too dense or the pull compensation isn’t adjusted correctly, the embroidery can pucker on hat fabric. We focused on simplifying the pathing to keep the stitch count at an efficient 2,841 stitches, which provides enough coverage without creating unnecessary bulk.
The Digitizing Process
