The Challenge
Digitizing for hats presents a unique set of constraints, primarily due to the curvature of the cap and the material’s interaction with the needle. For the Star Fence project, our primary goal was to maintain clean lines and legible text within a 3.5-inch square area. Because the client provided a 50/50 poly-cotton blend hat, we had to be very careful with how we managed stitch density to prevent puckering, which is a common issue when working with these materials.
