Project Overview
For this project, we worked with Corte Fino to prepare their logo for embroidery on canvas bags. Canvas is a sturdy, heavy-duty material, which is great for durability but requires specific handling during the digitizing phase. If the stitch density is too high, it can cause the fabric to bunch up. If it is too low, the logo looks thin and loses its crisp edges.
Our main challenge was to capture the fine lines of the logo while ensuring it looked sharp on a 4×3.5 inch area. We focused on pathing the stitches so that the machine would move logically across the fabric, reducing unnecessary thread breaks and keeping the backside of the bag clean.
The Process
When digitizing for canvas, we account for the material’s thickness. We adjusted the pull compensation to ensure the logo would align perfectly once embroidered. With 11,389 stitches, we carefully mapped out the fill areas to provide full coverage without adding bulk.
