Design Challenges and Process

The Bandits project required careful attention to detail due to the small, intricate lines within the text and graphics. When digitizing for cap-front placement, the curve of the cap creates a unique challenge. The design must be anchored properly to prevent puckering or shifting during the embroidery process.

We started by analyzing the artwork for stitch path efficiency. With a stitch count of 17,113, we had to balance density with clarity. Too much density on a cap can cause the fabric to pull, while too little can make the design look thin. We utilized a standard flat fill and satin stitch combination to ensure the design sits securely on the cap material.

One of our primary goals was to ensure that the small details in the ‘Bandits’ lettering remained legible. We adjusted the entry and exit points for each letter to minimize thread breaks and ensure the machine runs smoothly. By testing the pull compensation settings specifically for cap fabric, we ensured the final output aligned perfectly with the original intent of the artwork.
