Case Study: SBH&E Hat Logo Digitizing

Project Overview

For the SBH&E project, our team was tasked with converting a specific brand logo into a high-quality embroidery format suitable for hats. Hats present a unique set of challenges because the fabric is curved and often thicker than standard apparel. The logo required precision to ensure the small lettering and symbols remained legible after stitching.

The Digitization Process

We started by analyzing the client artwork. The main challenge was maintaining the integrity of the letterforms while adjusting for the 2.5 x 2.8-inch size constraint. Because the design was intended for a hat, we had to ensure the pull compensation was calculated correctly. This prevents the fabric from puckering and keeps the letters sharp.

We mapped out the pathing to minimize jumps and trims. By optimizing the stitch density, we kept the count at exactly 12,395 stitches, which provides enough coverage for a clean look without over-stitching the fabric. The final result is a balanced, flat design that sits perfectly on the front panel of the cap.
