The EFIT project required precise digitizing for a left-chest application on polyester apparel. Polyester is a synthetic, non-absorbent fabric that often poses a challenge for embroidery because it can easily pucker if the stitch density and pull compensation are not balanced correctly. Our primary objective was to ensure the text and logo elements maintained clarity at a 4-inch width without overloading the fabric with unnecessary stitches.

With a stitch count of 3,862, the design needed to be efficient. Too many stitches in a small area can cause the fabric to pull inward, while too few result in gaps where the polyester shows through the embroidery. We focused on optimizing the density to ensure the logo sat flat against the garment while providing a professional, clean finish.

The Digitizing Process

Our team began by analyzing the geometry of the EFIT branding. We determined the optimal pathing for the needle to minimize thread breaks and machine stops. By adjusting the compensation settings specifically for polyester, we were able to account for the fabric’s natural tendency to shift during the embroidery process. We ensured that the satin stitches were long enough to cover the surface but short enough to maintain durability during washing and daily wear.

The final output was refined to ensure high registration accuracy. This means that every element of the logo aligns perfectly, which is critical for left-chest placements where the visibility is high.
