The most important tool that an embroiderer needs is a high-quality embroidery needle. Embroidery needles come in various sizes and styles, and choosing the right one depends on the fabric and thread being used. Needles with larger eyes are necessary for thicker threads, while smaller eyes are needed for thinner threads. The point of the needle should also be considered, as sharp points are best for tightly woven fabrics, while rounded points are better for loosely woven fabrics.

In addition to a good quality embroidery needle, other important tools for embroiderers include embroidery hoops or frames to hold the fabric taut, good quality embroidery thread, embroidery scissors, and a marking tool to transfer the embroidery design onto the fabric.
